Can you believe it's already been several weeks since Camp Meeting started? I can't. I'll be honest. The disappointment Wednesday as we started to break down the sound equipment was almost unbearable.
It was kind of like a hot summer day when you want a cold glass of water, then find that your ice machine is broke. Or, when you sit all day thinking about that special treat waiting for you at home; only to find that someone else has already beat you to it!
Hey, don't get me wrong... I was tremendously blessed by the meeting this year, but it went by too quickly!
The excitement started as our church family prepped and prepared. Planning for Camp Meeting really starts at the Camp Meeting before. For instance, we are already planning changes for the meeting next year! (If the Lord tarries His return!)
The countless hours put into making this meeting great wasn't really what made it all happen. Weeks were sacrificed before the meeting to ensure that the grounds were in "tip-top-shape" for our special guests. Did you notice the newly painted doors? You probably wouldn't have realized the amount of work it took for a gentleman in our church to do all of that!
You see, my point is, sometimes we take for granted the things that others do for us. If we aren't careful, we take for granted the things that our Heavenly Father did for us! And most importantly, we take for granted the things that our Heavenly Father continues to do for us!
Only by the Lord's grace was this meeting a success! Nothing we could have done to prepare and nothing we could have planned could have made this meeting a success. God's presence was felt in every service!
Services started Monday at 3 PM with Brother Joey Curado preaching for us! "Give Jesus Your All" was his title. The Lord used Brother Curado to start things off with a powerful message!
Brother Steve Williamson preached next on "Ministering With A Hard-Heart." So often we do things, never receiving a blessing, because our hearts aren't where they should be.
And what a great way to end Monday afternoon - Brother Bob Ford preached on "Exceeding Abundantly". His life's verse! Very powerful message. We enjoyed special singing by Brother Weaver and the Williamson family! We concluded the service with a fine meal prepared by our ladies!
Monday night was packed out! The building was full, and we had to use extra chairs! The Lord tremendously blessed us! For many of us, it was the first time hearing Brother Larry Brown preach. "Blowing the Whistle on the Wolf" - a message you MUST hear! It's pretty lengthy, but well worth the listen!
We received an offering for the Verdie Edwards Scholarship Fund -close to $7,000!
Tuesday morning started at 9:30 AM. Brother Randy Wilson from WV preached on "To Be Like Jesus." My, how we should strive to be like our Savior!
Brother David Harrison preached second on "Is Your House Under A Curse?" Another superb message!
Brother Robert Jarvis preached last before our afternoon break. "Getting All God Has For Me" was his thought. A mind opening message!
We resumed services at 7:30 PM. Another powerful message by Brother Larry Brown on "Shields of Gold". The building was packed out again Tuesday night!
We were blessed to get to hear the Zorns sing, as well as the Hoys, Miss. Brittany Watson, the Rogerson Family and Brother Tommy Lamb.
Wednesday morning was kind of depressing...the last day! Brother Drummond lead us off with a wonderful message entitiled "We're Losing a Grip!" What a mind opening, thought prevoking message! One I challenge you to listen to for sure!
The Holy Spirit moved on freely though special music by the Hoys and another message by Brother Alfred Willis! "A Box of Bones" was his title. Aren't you thankful that not even your bones will stay in the world if you are saved?
We ended the morning service with a dear Saint - Brother Ed McAbee. What an honor it was to hear him preach one more time! "7 Things to Keep You Anchored" -Are you anchored?
Many left after the morning service, but we had a great crowd stay for the night service! Brother Bo Wagner preached a powerful message on "Maybe This Storm Isn't For You". It was an eye opener!
We were tremendously blessed! Brother Tommy Lamb wrote another song for Camp Meeting this year - "Exceeding, Abundant, Above All - That's God's Amazing Grace".
This was our third year streaming every service online! It was a blessing to get some positive feedback from it! We are thankful that the Lord has enable us to be able to do it!
How about those online reservations? A good bit of positive feedback about that too!! It made things a lot easier for our church secretary. We will continue to improve this option!
In closing of this very long post.... Remember how all of this was possible. By God's Exceeding, Abundantly, Above-All Grace, we can say that our 27th year was the best one yet! Until next year... (I can't resist!) Only #355days until #campmeeting2017!
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us..” ~ Ephesians 3:20
